Daniel Schiavone – Project Manager and Technical Lead
Daniel Schiavone has focused on creating applications that save people time and tedium. Dan is a proven developer with 15+ years of application development and system administration experience. Dan has led application development efforts, directing implementation and deployment efforts across myriad platforms from enterprise systems to small business solutions. His experience includes Open Source Platforms (LAMP, PHP, Drupal, Java), Web 2.0 Technologies (AJAX & jQuery), IBM/Lotus Notes/Domino, Business Objects, Amazon Cloud and Ruby on Rails. His database experiences includes mySQL, Oracle, Ingres and MSSQL. Dan is well versed in multiple operating systems, programming languages, and networking protocols and is known for his ability to coolly lead and deliver creative solutions for clients.
Elizabeth Lipinski - Project Manager
Elizabeth Lipinski is an experienced project manager who has the ability to bridge the technical with business or organizational need. Having worked with start-ups, she has significant experience sticking to a project budget and being creative with technical solutions. Having worked with large corporations, she has the ability to work within existing and sometimes delicate dynamics, as well as working with larger teams and projects. Previous clients/employers include: Charm.net, Netcomm, National Cancer Institute, Widgetworks, TidePoint, iLearning (at the time, one of the Sylvan Family of Companies), BankOne, Information Technology Systems. Project Management experience has included developing project plans and timelines (into a work-breakdown structure, where necessary), estimating project costs, progress reporting, milestone reporting, change control, using various project management tools, and also overseeing Q&A. Elizabeth's experience with networking, the Internet and software development has extended from the infancy of the technology to the present.
Cheryl Amato - Web Designer, Usability and Accessibility Consultant
Cheryl Amato holds a BFA from University of West Florida and an MFA in Imaging & Digital Arts from UMBC. She designed her first web site in 1996 & has been designing sites ever since providing clean, standards compliant CSS driven designs for multitudes of clients. She is known for promptness and attention to details. Cheryl is an accessibility specialist. She has been working with accessibility issues and the Web since 1997 when she did work for the National Federation of the Blind. When Section 508 became law, she developed a class that she taught to the Baltimore office of Social Security Administration. From August 2006 through April 2008, she was contracted to the State of Maryland as an accessibility specialist where she was tasked with evaluating all State agency web sites for accessibility compliance. She also taught MD State webmasters the basics of accessibility so they could maintain their sites in the future.
Mark McIntosh – Systems Administrator
Mark McIntosh has over ten years of experience with open source projects in Content Management (Joomla, Mambo, Alfresco, Drupal), CRM's (Sugar vTiger XRMS) Messaging (Sendmail, Postfix, Jabber, Openfire) and Authentication (OpenLDAP, Netscape LDAP, Sun LDAP, SLES LDAP). His experience spans a multitude of environments including enterprise operating systems (Red Hat, Suse SLES, Ubuntu) non enterprise (Gentoo, Fedora Core, Debian) as well as the newer Cloud computing environments of Amazon EC2 and S3. Mark's experience also includes many proprietary enterprise products including Helpdesk systems (Altiris, Footprints, Heat, Magic), Virtualization products (VMWare ESX, VMWare GSX, XEN, EC2) Messaging (Exchange, Domino, Sametime). He has worked as a consultant on projects involving security, document management, and migration to and from open source to non-open source.
Stephanie Dickard - Internet Marketing Specialist
Stephanie has worked as a public relations and marketing consultant since 2003. Her early experience is in music industry where she has established and managed two DIY venue spaces for local musicians to showcase their talent. She has worked with a variety of people and businesses through consultation work. Stephanie specializes in effective communication to an organization’s varying target audiences using successful social media integration tactics. Stephanie graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Goucher College, where her studies focused on arts administration, public relations, and marketing.
